Cuba and Haiti Strengthen Cooperation Relations

HAVANA, Cuba - Alex Larsen, Haiti’s Health and Population Minister, today in this capital, thanked the Cuban government and people for their support given to his country and for their selfless help in this sector.

Larsen attended a high level meeting between delegations of the two Caribbean nations, gathered to analyze and further boost relations of cooperation, especially in the fields of medical care and education.

The Cuban delegation was headed by Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Foreign Trade and Investment Minister; while the Haitian was headed by Paul Antoine Bien-Aime, Interior and Territorial Communities, as well as Evans Lescouflair, Health, Youth and Civic Action Minister and Haiti’s Ambassador to Havana, Jean Victor Geneus.

Malmierca stressed the importance of the negotiations in the development of bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, the Haitian minister expressed his country’s gratitude for the aid received.

The visiting delegation made a historic tour of the eastern Santiago de Cuba province, where they visited economical and historical places of interest, as part of their activities in Cuba.
