The Superior Court of Finances and of the Contentious Administration, on Monday, condemned the ex-administrator of the Haitian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Harold Bruno to pay 76 million in Gourdes (over USD 2m).

Harold Bruno is accused of having diverted an important sum of money at the Ministry of Justice under the interim regime. Funds earmarked to pay the employees of the embassies as well as amounts earmarked for youth studying in Cuba were stolen.

The president of the Foreign Affairs commission of the Senate of the Republic, Evalière Beauplan, applauded the decision of the Court of Finances to render this judgment that should serve as a lesson for the administrators of the Wealth of the State.

He said nevertheless, that he hoped that all the elements of the investigation conducted by the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Senate were taken into account by the Office of Finances, and that the others sectors of Public Power will follow up on the Court order to strongly show that they do not tolerate the support of corruption and immorality.

A meeting is planned, on next January, 10 , at the Senate of the Republic with the minister of Foreign Affairs, Reynald Clérismé, the ambassadors of Haiti in Dominican Republic and in Washington to provide explanations on this file, announced Evallière Beauplan.
