On Wednesday, February 28th, the third anniversary of the coup d'état of February 29, 2004, supporters of Fanmi Lavalas and the former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide gathered before the US embassy in Port-au-Prince. The next week on Mach 7th, at 10am, a demonstration was held in front of the French embassy in Port-au-Prince near the Pétion public park. Many of the demonstrators traveled from Carefour, Cite Soleil and Grand Ravine to attend the event.
